It is probably one of the worst things ever and it's on the perfect website.
Also, we're going to be reading each other's minds this X-mas. The Emotiv headset is only three hundred bucks and I'm getting one whether it's terrible or not. An affordable brain-reading thing (sort of)? Think of all the borderline frightening third-party applications everybody is going to write for it. I'll bet the next issue of Make after it comes out is going to be devoted entirely to rewiring the thing. So awesome.
